Die 7 Festivals für Instagramer

The 7 festivals for Instagrammers

Sziget

The Sziget Festival (Hungarian for island) takes place every year on an island in the Danube in Budapest, Hungary. With over 1000 shows on 60 stages, the festival is one of the largest in Europe. 60 stages mean 60 different backdrops to bombard your Instagram feed and capture cool memories from the festival. Under the motto “Island of Freedom”, over 100 nationalities meet every year, which are perfect conditions for making friends all over the world. 400,000 potential acquaintances to be exact. In addition to the musical offering, you will also find open-air cinemas, theaters, tattoo studios, sports facilities, bungee jumping and of course a ton of food stalls.

tomorrowland

The festival takes place in the Belgian town of Boom and we can assure you, the name says it all! Breathtaking stage designs, the world's best acts and an audience that travels from all over the world make Tomorrowland one of the best festivals in the world. The "fairytale land" theme gives you plenty of scope to put together an unusual costume a la Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella or perhaps Mad Max. The rule here is: if you really step out of line, you'll really stand out. So come on, what are you waiting for? Grab your friends and head to the nearest costume shop!

Way out West

Way out West, the three-day, environmentally friendly festival in Gothenburg, has to be one of the coolest festivals in Sweden. It's not just the world-class lineup that counts, but also the whole supporting program. Some stages don't play any music at all, and somehow that's quite nice. Whether it's the cinema stage or the discussion stage, a little relaxation during the jam-packed three days is good. Music lovers aren't left out, though. 5 stages have stayed true to music and let you dance into the night. As soon as the last note sounds, you go dancing in Gothenburg's many nightclubs. Plus, the Swedes are just a lovely people!

Dekmantel

The Dekmantel Festival in Amsterdam offers one of the most musically sophisticated lineups in electronic music. The most creative and influential acts from house and techno as well as classical concerts, jazz and experimental music come together every year to present their best performances. The special thing about Dekmantel is that they encourage the acts to break out of their comfort zone and play what they like at the moment. The complete freedom of not always having to play the same hits is reflected in the energetic and happy audience. A lot of attention is also paid to art. Whether in stage design or art installations. Dekmantel is the playground for creative people.

Fusion Festival

The Fusion Festival is considered the Mecca for partygoers. However, it is not easy to get tickets. You have to WIN them! Yes, you heard right. Three draws decide whether you can take part in the festival. Taking part is therefore a real privilege and makes the anticipation for the festival skyrocket. Musically, you will find everything your heart desires, but a large part of it is electronic music. The audience is colorful and open. No one feels out of place here, whether you are a hobo, banker, nude bather, LGBT+, child, grandparent. We promise you: The positive impressions you take with you here will stay with you all year and will not let you rest until you leave again.

Terraform

A real insider tip is the art and music festival Terraforma, which takes place on the grounds of an old villa in Italy. The small but lovely festival has a real DIY flair. Handmade ravioli, small stages in the forest and hidden art installations invite you to stroll and relax until late in the evening, when electronic music fans get their money's worth. The festival is still small and family-run, so don't wait too long, because word will quickly get around that Terraforma could become one of the top festivals in Europe.

CTM Festival

The last festival on our list is not for the faint of heart. The CTM Festival, which takes place in Berlin, has made a name for itself over the last few years for its breathtaking light installations and experimental shows. Musically, the festival offers styles of music that you've never heard of or others that you wouldn't even classify as music. But that's exactly what makes CTM one of the most exciting festivals in the world. You just have to be able to get involved.
